これはスタジオジブリ「魔女の宅急便」（1989）のポスターです。よく見ると、この絵は通常のパース（絵を描くときの遠近法の決まりごと）に従っていません。ひとつの画面のなかに、複数のパースが混在しているのです。写実的な絵を描くときには、まずこういう描き方はしません。美術予備校であれば、先生から指摘を受けるであろう「誤り」です。
This is a poster for Studio Ghibli's "Kiki's Delivery Service" (1989). Look closely, and you'll notice it doesn't follow the usual rules of perspective — several different perspectives are mixed into a single frame. It's not how you'd normally approach a realistic drawing. At an art school, it's the kind of thing a teacher would flag as a mistake.
複数のパースが生む浮遊感 How Mixed Perspectives Create a Sense of Float
画面の下のほうでは、上から見下ろすような俯瞰の視点がとられていて、高さを感じさせます。上にいくにつれて角度はゆるやかになり、今度は広がりを感じさせる。視線を動かすたびにパースがダイナミックに切り替わるので、見ているだけでふわりと浮くような感覚が生まれます。おそらく、これは意図された効果なのだと思います。
Toward the bottom of the image, the perspective looks down from above, giving a sense of height. Moving upward, the angle gradually softens into something more expansive. Because the perspective shifts dynamically as your eye travels across the frame, simply looking at it produces a faint sense of floating. I suspect this is entirely intentional.
感情と物語のテーマに通じる効果 An Effect That Speaks to Emotion and Theme
「魔女の宅急便」は、魔女の少女が見知らぬ土地で新しい人々に出会い、少しずつ成長していく物語です。不安と自由が同居した感覚。足がすくむような心細さと、勇気さえあればどこまでも飛んでいけるという爽快感——このポスターは、その両方をうまく描き出しているように思います。感情や物語のテーマを直接的に説明しているわけではないのに、見る側にはうっすらと伝わってくる。とても創造的な表現だと感じます。
"Kiki's Delivery Service" follows a young witch who arrives in an unfamiliar town, meets new people, and grows through the experience — a story where anxiety and freedom coexist. This poster seems to capture both at once: the faint dread of standing somewhere new, and the exhilaration of knowing that courage alone lets you fly. Nothing here states the emotion or theme outright, and yet it comes through all the same. I find that quietly remarkable.

さて、画像生成AIがこうした表現を実現できるかどうかは、考えてみると興味深い問いです。ある効果を狙って、あえて「正確さ」を崩して描く——これは単なる正確な描写を超えた、もうひとつ別の種類の知性を必要とするように思えます。
Whether image generation AI could pull off something like this is a genuinely interesting question. Deliberately bending accuracy in service of a specific effect seems to call for a kind of intelligence that goes beyond faithful depiction.
「人間に近い身体を持つことで、こうした感覚は学習できるようになる」という話をよく耳にします。でも、もしかすると身体そのものは必ずしも必要ではなく、「ある表現がある効果を生む」という組み合わせを大量に学習することで、同じような感覚に近づけるのかもしれません。答えの出ない問いですが、芸術における創造性を考えるうえで、とても興味深いテーマだと思っています。
It's often said that a body resembling a human's would be necessary to learn this kind of sensibility. But perhaps embodiment isn't strictly required — perhaps learning, at scale, which expressions produce which effects could get you most of the way there. I don't have an answer. But as a question about creativity in art, I find it a genuinely fascinating one to sit with.
